Mr. Courtney
D. Dupree is a co-founder and Managing Partner of GDC Acquisitions,
LLC, an industrial and commercial products holding company.
GDC has three wholly owned New York based subsidiaries, JDC
Lighting, LLC, a commercial lighting distributor, Unalite
Electric and Lighting, LLC, an electrical and lighting maintenance
company, and Hudson Bay Environments Group, LLC, (HBE) which
is commercial contract furniture dealer.
In 2004, GDC acquired JDC Lighting as its first operating
company. JDC is one of the leading commercial lighting distributors
in New York City providing lighting and accessories for a
wide range of projects from single restaurants and retail
stores, up to the largest buildings in New York and everything
in between. Previous projects completed by JDC Lighting include
Bloomberg’s headquarters, World Trade Center Seven,
PriceWaterhouseCoopers headquarters, and Lehman Brother’s
headquarters, just to name a few. GDC acquired Unalite in
summer 2006 because it strengthened the company’s already
strong advantages by helping to round out its product and
service offerings. In fall 2006, the company moved into the
contract furniture distribution business with the acquisition
of HBE. The acquisition was strategic in nature as the three
operating companies share a commonality in customers.
Prior to co-founding GDC, Mr. Dupree served as a Vice President
in investment banking at Lehman Brothers, Inc. where he specialized
in mergers and acquisitions for banks, savings and loans
institutions, as well as commercial and consumer finance
companies. Mr. Dupree’s experience at Lehman Brothers
included more than $22 billion in merger related transactions,
as well as numerous debt and equity related transactions.
Prior to his tenure with Lehman Brothers, Mr. Dupree was
a senior underwriter and Marketing Manager for Chubb & Sons,
Inc., a leading insurance carrier. Mr. Dupree holds an MBA
from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School
of Business and B.A. degrees in economics and political science
from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
