CUNY Is Opportunity
Doing Business with the Nation's Largest Urban Public University

NEW YORK, NY (February 27, 2008) -- More than 300 minority and women-owned business vendors attended CUNY Is Opportunity – an event to learn about business opportunities with The City University of New York (CUNY). The event included two workshops -- "How to Do Business with CUNY" and "How to Become a New York State Certified M/WBE Vendor". The free event, sponsored by CUNY, was held at Baruch College in Manhattan.

CUNY Is Oppportunity featured speakers from the University and the M/WBE vendor community. Workshops, filled to capacity, provided attendees with information on how to navigate the New York State M/WBE certification process and the CUNY procurement process. In addition, a "Market Place" made up of representatives of 23 CUNY colleges, graduate and professional schools and affiliated programs, as well as representatives of related organizations, provided visitors with information about specific business opportunities and public sector procurement.
